Tru Life Charged With First Degree Murder

VladTV is reporting that rapper Tru Life, born Roberto Guzman Rosado, Jr., has been charged with first degree murder in the stabbing death of an 18 year old man from New York. The victims name has not been released. Tru reportedly turned himself into authorities late last night.

Last week AllHipHop.com reported that a dispute between Tru Life's brother and several others left one man dead and another seriously injured.

According to reports on June 16, five gang members ambushed two men at a Manhattan apartment complex, to retaliate against the earlier shooting of a man named Michael Slater.

Authorities said Michael Slater is a suspected drug dealer who was shot in the abdomen outside Pacha nightclub in New York City. He is listed in critical condition.

The apartment ambush resulted in the two individuals being stabbed repeatedly in the chest and face.

One man, 30 year old Jason Black, survived the assault and is listed in critical condition. The other, an 18-year old teen whose name has not been released, died on the operating table. The assault is suspected to be in retaliation of the Michael Slater shooting.

While details are still being revealed police believe the shooting and fatal stabbing are the result of an ongoing feud between Jason Black and Tru Life's brother.

The brother, whose name has also not been disclosed, was first introduced to Hip-Hop fans in 2007 courtesy of the punching incident between then rivals Tru Life and Cam'ron.

According to various reports, the brother joined Tru Life in confronting Cam'ron outside of Club Stereo.

After an escalation of words and some reports alleging the brother even threatened to shoot up the venue, Tru Life assaulted the Dipset founder with a single punch to the face.

Tru Life is no stranger to controversy. He was also involved with a highly publicized feud with Prodigy from Mobb Deep that lead to the robbery of some Mobb Deep affiliates in a New York recording studio. That feud stemmed from Prodigy, who was featured on a Tru Life song using the same verse on another song. Tru asked for a refund and after being ignored, Tru and members of his crew allegedly bust into a Mobb Deep recording session and relieved people of their jewels. Neither Prodigy nor Havoc was in the studio at the time of the robbery.

At the present time there was no word on whether or not Tru has been given a bail.
