A self-taught artist, I.AM left the streets of Philly to seek a better life in Seattle. He learned through constant practice, spending long hours in bookstores and studying his favorite artists such as Joe Madureira, Todd McFarlane and Hyung-Tae Kim. Through exposure to these artists he developed his own unique style, a fusion of comic book illustration and old American pin-up, and he gained notoriety for drawing women in this style.
This led to a natural partnership with T.I.T.S. Brand where he has found a home. “Marek [owner] is a boss; I work well with bosses,” says I.Am, “and the team, Two In The Shirt, is a motivating group that has faith in each other’s abilities.
