Tony Yayo, Jamie Hector Rally Support For Love 'N Haiti Project

A host of celebrities gathered in Manhattan today (October 30) to rally support for Love ‘N Haiti, a recycling project in Port-au-Prince that turns everyday trash into energy.
Rapper Tony Yayo, Melky Jean (Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter and Wyclef Jean’s sister), actor Jamie Hector (“The Wire”), actress Daphnee Duplaix (“One Life to Live”) and Mona Scott-Young (Monami Entertainment) encouraged New Yorkers to vote online for the eco-friendly program to win an international grant sponsored by the BBC World News.
“Love ‘N Haiti has benefits that reach far beyond the shores of my native country,” Melky Jean told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “It’s an innovative way to help clean up our planet while addressing the issues of poverty, unemployment and crime. This is a movement that everyone – Haitian or not – needs to get behind.”
The Love ‘N Haiti initiative aims to gather support to win a global competition for a grant to continue the recycling project in Port-Au-Prince, which aid in decreasing deforestation, creating jobs and reducing incidence of floods.
Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons, Garcelle Beauvais, former U.S. President Bill Clinton and Wyclef Jean are also among the supporters of the project, one of 12 finalists in the competition.
“I'm proud to be a part of this campaign, not only because it’s for my people, but because I care about our environment,” added Wyclef. “All it takes is one vote to make a difference. We need everyone to support Love ‘N Haiti.

Man Pleads Guilty To Manslaughter In Death Of T.I's Friend Philant Johnson
Associated Press: CINCINNATI - The driver of a vehicle involved in an Ohio gun battle that killed a member of the rapper T.I.'s entourage during a wild highway chase has pleaded guilty to manslaughter and other charges.Forty-one-year-old Padron Thomas was initially charged with murder. But he struck a deal with prosecutors that allowed him to plead to lesser charges in exchange for testifying in December against his brother, who pulled the trigger.
A judge on Wednesday scheduled a sentencing hearing for Nov. 17, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer. Thomas faces 10 years in prison. He's already serving 17 years on unrelated federal drug charges.
Thomas's younger brother, Hosea Thomas, was sentenced to 66 years in prison for shooting Philant Johnson in May 2006 after a T.I. concert in Cincinnati.
Three others were injured in the shooting. The Grammy-winning Atlanta rapper wasn't hurt.

You've probably seen Rihanna's racy single cover, and now PopEater is proud to exclusively premiere the cover for her impending album, 'Rated R.' The grainy black-and-white cover shows the R&B queen draped in hand jewelry and covering one eye.
The album, which is set to be released on Monday, Nov. 23, is Rihanna's first album since 2007's 'Good Girl Gone Bad.'
It is also Rihanna's first album since she was assaulted by boyfriend Chris Brown in February.
The 'Rated R' cover was shot by famed photographer Ellen von Unwerth, who says that "Rihanna was looking to create something a bit new for the look of the album."
Von Unwerth goes on to say that Rihanna is "so beautiful, sweet and tough at the same time -- and a pleasure to shoot," adding that she's "fantastic to work with -- very giving, very creative, very involved in every aspect of the shoot, and ready to push the boundaries."
The first single off of 'Rated R' is a slowed-down track titled 'Russian Roulette,' a dark tune in which Rihanna sings: "And you can see my heart beating / You can see it through my chest / And I'm terrified but I'm not leaving / Know that I must must pass this test / So just pull the trigger."

For the latter, Soulja said he wanted to make his musical project "better" than the hit movie.

The movie was straight, but I was on Twitter and the movie has been a trending topic on Twitter for, like, a month straight. Plus it's Halloween-themed — it's dropping on Halloween.
"Cortez is the beginning of a series," he added. "That's my middle name. If you go on the Web, they got my middle name listed as Ramon all over the Web sites. I don't know why. That's the beginning of a series — I might put out three or four more after I dropped that one."

Curtis Jackson - aka rap phenomenon 50 Cent - is pondering the impact of the economic recession on the bling world of rap. Although he is currently promoting his role in a film - Dead Man Running, the first movie production of footballers Ashley Cole and Rio Ferdinand - Jackson calls himself a businessman. His fortune has been estimated at £500 million but in these tougher times even he has taken a hit.
He grins and says: 'Hey, if you don't lose some money in this recession it means you didn't have enough to start off with. Sure I lost a few (million) but that's just because I have so much. This is a time that will sort the strong from the weak. Any businessman who wants a piece of the future should learn from me.'
Two years ago Jackson netted $400 million after Coca-Cola bought the Vitamin Water company for $4.1 billion - he owned ten per cent of the company. His own business empire, G Unit, rakes in millions from sales of branded trainers, an urban clothing line, diamond watches and movie and book deals.
Now 34, he lives in Farmington, Connecticut, in the former mansion of Mike Tyson.

I came from the bottom of the bottom. It's hard for a lot of people to comprehend my story - a lot of people just don't get me because they haven't experienced it. The birth of my son gave me a future. My ex-girlfriend, Shaniqua Tompkins, gave birth to my boy, Marquise, 11 years ago. He changed the direction of my life completely. I decided then to turn to music. Having a child meant I didn't want to be what I had been. I just walked away and never looked back.

Roc a Fella veteran Beanie Sigel took to the stage at Philly's POWERHOUSE event with former enemy Jadakiss and the two lyrical giants killed it on stage like they always do. In a break between songs, B Mac made it a point - and repeated it - that he was "Running this town" which we all know is Jay-Z's hit single with Rihanna. Peep the video, around the 5 minute mark. Jay-Z later took the stage and sources say he wasn't very happy about it, although he did not respond publically. Does the State Property general / Roc underboss have something to get off his chest?

UK Rock Star Ian Brown Calls On Schools To Show Students 50 Cent And Eminem Biographies
NME----Ian Brown is urging teachers in Britain's inner cities to show their pupils biographical films by Eminem and 50 Cent.
The former Stone Roses frontman believes movies such as '8 Mile' and 'Get Rich Or Die Trying' may inspire youngsters to do great things.
The singer said he took his son to see 'Notorious' earlier this year and it had an inspirational effect on him.
"There's not enough about working class kids getting on in life, the working class got cut out of history, and we can't let that happen," Brown told MOJO Magazine
"I think all kids should be made to watch the Biggie Smalls film ('Notorious'), the Eminem story ('8 Mile') and the 50 Cent film ('Get Rich Or Die Tryin').
"I met Biggie Smalls in September 1995 and it was mega (amazing). He was like something out of the Bible, talking in parables, and he looked like an old '20s jazz star. Some days I have to pinch myself that I met him."

Public Enemy, the iconic Hip-Hop group, has raised $50,000 towards their latest venture - a fan-funded album.
In early October, the group joined forces with SellaBand, an online service that allows fans to personally fund projects from their favorite artists.
Since then, the group has raised over $50,000 for their forthcoming album, with their final goal being $250,000. The quarter-million dollars will be used to not only fund the entire recording process, but to fund a marketing plan for the new album’s worldwide release. The new CD will be Public Enemy’s 13th studio recording, and their first release since 2007’s How You Sell Soul to a Soulless People Who Sold Their Soul?
Fans who contribute can receive multiple incentives, such as t-shirts, backstage passes, a studio visit during a recording session, executive producer credit and even profits generated from sales.

Public Enemy front man Chuck D shared his thoughts about the new deal.
“SellaBand's financial engine model goes about restructuring the music business in reverse, It starts with fans first, then the artists create from there,” he said. “The music business is built on searching for fans and this is a brand new way for acts to create a new album with fans first, already on board.”
Chuck D also told AllHipHop.com that he was interested in speaking directly to Gucci Mane to make sure the popular rapper did not think there was any friction between them.
“What I said could be misread as mean,” Chuck D said. “The old gotta help these young cats know they ain’t alone.”
Chuck had previously chastised Gucci Mane for dissing Jay-Z as the “hottest” artist in Hip-Hop.

Dr Dre Says F**k Rush Limbaugh + Excited About Ron Artest Being On The Lakers [Video Inside]
AllHipHop ReportsHip-Hop super producer Dr. Dre has weighed in on controversial talk show host Rush Limbaugh.
The Hip-Hop producer is world famous for his work with rappers like Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and 50 Cent in addition to selling millions of records as a member of N.W.A. and as a solo artist.
Limbaugh was dropped from a group of investors who were attempting to bid for the NFL's St. Louis Rams, due to his controversial views on race and politics.
When TMZ cameras caught Dre leaving an event in Hollywood, he replied "man f**k Rush Limbaugh."
A number of others have already spoke out against Limbaugh and his involvement with the SCP Worldwide investment group.
Dr. Dre joins the list of Limbaugh critics, including Reverend Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and others.
Last week SCP Worldwide chairman Dave Checketts dropped Limbaugh from the group's attempt to bid for the Rams, labeling his involvement "a complication and a distraction."
"As such, we have decided to move forward without him and hope it will eventually lead us to a successful conclusion," Checketts said.
When quizzed on the release of his long delayed album Detox, Dre was equally curt. "We doing it," Dre said.

BREAKING NEWS: Lil Wayne Pleads Guilty To Gun Charge [Facing A Year in Jail]

Rapper Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to attempted weapons possession charges today (October 22).
As reported by AllHipHop.com yesterday (October 21), the rapper is expected to receive a maximum sentence of one year in jail, although he is expected to serve around eight months in prison for the offense.
The rapper had previously pleaded not guilty to the charges, but changed the plea to avoid a trial that was due to start January 20 and could have resulted in at least 3 ½ years in prison.
The guilty plea stems from an incident in New York in 2007, after police found a .40 caliber handgun during a search of his tour bus.
Originally, lawyers for Wayne planned to contest the charges.
Yesterday (October 21), the plea was entered after Wayne’s DNA evidence was allegedly found on the weapon and deemed admissible by a judge.
The DNA evidence found was reportedly small, and Wayne’s lawyers initially sparred with the prosecution over whether DNA profiling technique used was scientifically acceptable.
Before the trial, Lil Wayne’s manager had publicly taken responsibility for the gun on the rapper’s VH1 special.
Lil Wayne, 27, also faces a trial in Arizona for felony drug possession and weapons charges, after a 2008 arrest during a routine stop at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint.
At press time, Lil Wayne could not be reached for comment.
His much-delayed rock debut, The Rebirth, is scheduled to hit stores on December 15.

Shyne Will Be Deported To Belize
Missinfo reports that Angie Martinez spoke with Shyne and he wanted to share this update….
Shyne’s team is fighting to stay in the US where his mother and his grandmother live and where they raised him….but it seems like he’s going to have to continue the fight from Belize. Shyne will be released from Immigration custody but will then be deported to Belize soon. He has Harvard Professor Charles Ogletree advocating on his behalf in concert with his legal team. They’re still urging fans to reach out to Governor Patterson’s office to petition for Shyne’s pardon (Paterson’s email / Paterson’s address) but deportation is imminent.
And what about Shyne’s mental state? Angie says "Shyne is one of the strongest people I know and he’s handling this situation just as I’d expect him to. It must be frustrating for all of his friends and family; he served his time, and keeps getting all these different dates and conflicting information. But he’s a soldier, he’s dealing with it."
